Medcezir is a Turkish teen drama produced by Ay Yapım that began airing on Star TV on September 13, 2013. The show was scripted by Ece Yörenç and Melek Gençoğlu and directed by Ali Bilgin, loosely reworking the American series The O.C. for a Turkish setting. Its plot centers on Yaman Koper, a young man from a rough background who lands in trouble and is taken under the wing of a lawyer's family, moving into the wealthy district of Altınkoy, where his growing feelings for a well-off girl named Mira Beylice become the emotional core of the story. Çağatay Ulusoy and Serenay Sarıkaya lead the cast, supported by actors including Hazar Ergüçlü, Taner Ölmez, Mine Tugay and Barış Falay. Strong ratings for the first season led to a second, but when audience numbers dropped the production wrapped up after two seasons and 77 episodes in June 2015. The show became one of the most talked-about Turkish dramas of its time, picking up several Golden Butterfly honors and placing at the Seoul International Drama Awards.
