Metin Akdülger — Biography

Metin Akdülger is an actor who has moved from Orkun, the troubled young man of the teen drama Medcezir, to Sultan Murad IV in Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem, without ever leaving the theatre. He also makes music and co-writes a comic book series. Most recently he shared the lead of the film İki Dünya Bir Dilek with Hande Erçel.

Born in Bursa to a family of immigrants from Thessaloniki and Skopje, he chose international relations at Koç University over a conservatory. In his third year he began attending Yıldız Kenter's classes and for a time assisted her. He joined Craft Theatre in 2012 and made his professional stage debut in Kaset. Television came in 2013 with Medcezir, and the same year he starred in Bensiz as a footballer left paralysed, losing 17 kilograms for the part. After Analar ve Anneler, Murad IV in the second season of Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem became his first leading television role. The solo play Baldan Karanlık won him "Promising Actor of the Year" at the 2nd Üstün Akmen Theatre Awards. On film he appeared in Kırık Kalpler Bankası, in My Favorite Fabric, shown at Cannes, and in the Netflix film Yarına Tek Bilet; on television he played Ateş Arbay in Şahsiyet and Ozan in Atiye.

In late 2019 he formed the band Journers with Burak Yeşildurak. Later work includes Kulüp and, in 2023-2024, the role of Atilla in Sandık Kokusu.
