Boran Kuzum — Biography
Boran Kuzum is a Turkish actor who made his name as the Greek lieutenant Leon in Vatanım Sensin, a drama set during the War of Independence, and who moves between television, film and the stage. In 2026 he played Yusuf in the American series Big Mistakes, his international screen debut, and in August of that year the press reported that he had stepped behind the camera for a first directing experience.
Raised in a family with ties to the theatre, Kuzum spent a year studying economics at Gazi University before leaving it to act, and graduated from the theatre department of Istanbul University State Conservatory in 2015. His first screen job came that same year as a pharmacist's assistant in Analar ve Anneler. Playing the enthroned Mustafa I in Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem introduced him to a wide audience, and Vatanım Sensin was his real breakthrough. He then played Cüneyt in Cingöz Recai, Emrah in Biz Böyleyiz and Savaş in Saygı, and his credits also include Hakan: Muhafız and Aşkın Kıyameti.
His most visible stage work is Treplev in a production of The Seagull that opened the Istanbul Theatre Festival; the play won best play at the Üstün Akmen Theatre Awards. Kuzum has also appeared in advertising for brands such as Coca-Cola, Eti and Levi's.
