Çağatay Ulusoy — Biography

Çağatay Ulusoy is one of Turkey's most closely followed television actors, best known as Yaman Koper in Medcezir and as Hakan Demir in Hakan: Muhafız, the first Turkish Netflix series. His latest major project was Eşref Rüya, in which he played the lead, Eşref Tek, from 2025 until the finale in June 2026.

His route in began with a modelling contest: he was named Best Model of Turkey in 2010. While studying at Istanbul University's forestry faculty he took acting lessons from Ayla Algan and at Akademi 35 Buçuk. In 2011 he appeared on screen as Emir Sarrafoğlu in Adını Feriha Koydum and in cinema in Anadolu Kartalları. The real growth came with Medcezir (2013-2015), the Turkish remake of The O.C., in which he starred opposite Serenay Sarıkaya. He then led the film Delibal and, on television, shared the lead with Aras Bulut İynemli in İçerde as Sarp Yılmaz. From 2018 to 2020 Hakan: Muhafız brought him an international audience.

Later work includes the Netflix film Kağıttan Hayatlar and the series Terzi, followed by Gaddar, Kübra, Tam Bir Centilmen and Uykucu. He has received several awards, among them a Golden Butterfly. His mother's family is Bosniak and his father's family emigrated from Bulgaria; he took Bulgarian citizenship in 2025.
