Jacky Nercessian — Biography

Jacky Nercessian is a French actor of Armenian descent, born in Saint-Étienne, who trained in theology to become a pastor in England before turning to acting. He spent a season with the Theatre of Renaissance, later toured with Last Call, and in 2009 appeared in Everybody Loves Juliet at the Splendid Theatre.

Best known for playing the character Apkar in Mayrig (1991) and its sequel 588 rue paradis (1992), he played Mustapha in the 2004 film Büyük Yolculuk (The Great Journey), which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. His other film credits include Colonel Chabert, La Soif de l'or and Les parasites, and in 2010 he appeared in Luc Besson's The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec. On television he reached wide audiences alongside Gérard Depardieu in the miniseries Napoléon. He has continued working into the 2020s, appearing with Christian Clavier in Les Vengeances de Maître Poutifard.
