Luc Andrieux — Biography
Born Luc René Jacques Perdrieux, French actor Luc Andrieux is best remembered for his role in François Truffaut's The 400 Blows (1959), one of the defining films of the French New Wave. Born on 12 February 1917 in Agon-Coutainville, he was active in French cinema for nearly three decades, from the late 1940s to the mid-1970s, appearing in more than two dozen films. Usually cast in supporting and character parts, his filmography includes Cet homme est dangereux, Le Chevalier de la nuit, Madelon, La Cité de l'indicible peur and Un linceul n'a pas de poches. Alongside acting he also worked as an assistant director on several productions. Andrieux died in Paris on 26 November 1977.
