Muhammet Uzuner — Biography

Born in Samsun on 30 June 1965, Muhammet Uzuner graduated in 1992 from the Acting Department of Ankara University's Faculty of Language and History-Geography. A year later he founded the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Theatre Workshop, where he worked as an actor, director and instructor until the end of 2004, also performing during that period with Antalya's municipal and state theatres. He then moved to Istanbul, where he has acted with Tiyatro Pera since 2006, taught at the Sadri Alışık Cultural Centre from 2012, and co-founded the Cihangir Atölye Sahnesi with a colleague. On screen he is best known for playing Doctor Cemal in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Bir Zamanlar Anadolu'da, and is also widely recognised for playing Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi in Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem. His other credits include Küf, Kocan Kadar Konuş and its sequel, Light Years, Beginner, Siyah Beyaz Aşk, Confidente and the series Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki.
