Murat Başoğlu — Biography

Murat Başoğlu (born 28 May 1968 in İzmir) is a Turkish presenter, model, actor and businessman.

Having begun his acting career in 1993, Başoğlu became known for the television programme Sabah Şekerleri, which he co-hosted with Şebnem Dönmez. He later worked as a presenter as well as an actor and model on various programmes, and alongside advertising he runs his own company producing design products. He hosted the programme Benzemez Kimse Sana three times, and in 2015 he appeared in the series Çilek Kokusu.

In 2017, the revelation that he had had an incestuous relationship with his niece caused a sensation in the tabloid press and in Turkey and was discussed for a long time; the Bodrum 4th Criminal Court of First Instance brought a case against him for indecent behaviour, seeking up to one year in prison. As a result of these events he divorced his wife Hande Bermek, the daughter of Ayhan Bermek, in 2017. After the scandal he did not take part in any production and his career came to an end.
