Behzat Ç.: An Ankara Detective Story (Behzat Ç.Bir Ankara Polisiyesi) (translated)

Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi is a crime drama built on Emrah Serbes's novels "Her Temas İz Bırakır" and "Son Hafriyat." Directed by Serdar Akar, it follows a veteran Ankara homicide chief who has little patience for rules or superiors and has stayed stuck at the same rank for years as a result. Alongside the murder cases he and his small team investigate, the show tracks his clashes with institutional pressure and his own personal unraveling, favoring a bleak, unglamorous tone over the genre's usual heroics. The ordinary texture of Ankara itself shapes much of the atmosphere. The run began on Star TV and lasted three seasons before returning, shorter and with a reshuffled cast, for a fourth season on BluTV years later. Between seasons the property also expanded into two feature films, and one supporting character later became the lead of a separate spin-off series.
