Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan — Biography

Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan, born on 12 September 1965 in Ankara, is a Turkish actor, presenter, and director. After studying economics at Gazi University, he graduated in 1989 from the theatre department of Hacettepe University's Ankara State Conservatory. He worked at the Diyarbakır State Theatre between 1989 and 1993 and spent many years within the State Theatres as both a performer and an administrator.

He made his screen debut in the 1985 film Gazino Bülbülü and later returned to cinema with İstanbul Kanatlarımın Altında. From the 2000s onward he concentrated on television, appearing in series such as Yılan Hikayesi, Kurşun Yarası, Çapkın, Avrupa Yakası, and Ezo Gelin, and he was part of Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi. His most widely recognized role came as İskender in Leyla ile Mecnun, which began in 2011.

His film work includes Hırsız Var!, Cenneti Beklerken, Bir Zamanlar Anadolu'da, Kelebeğin Rüyası, Daha, Ölümlü Dünya, and Organize İşler Sazan Sarmalı. In recent years he has appeared on screen in the series Hayat Şarkısı, Arıza, Aziz, and Kızılcık Şerbeti. Over his long career, productions in which he acted or which he directed have received various awards.
