Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan plays Gazanfer, Alper Kul is Oktay, Sarp Apak is Serhan, İrem Sak is Begüm, Doğu Demirkol is Zafer, Feyyaz Yiğit is Serbest, Meltem Kaptan is Sevil, Özgür Emre Yıldırım is Atakan and Mehmet Özgür is Ilhami. The screenplay is credited to Ali Atay, Aziz Kedi, Feyyaz Yiğit, Volkan Sümbül and Ali Demirel. Taff Pictures produced it and UIP distributed it. Murat Çekem, Deniz Doğançay, Zafer Dilek and Özdemir Erdoğan worked on the music.

Through different eyes

Action & Thriller Fan Puts pace, tension and set pieces first; little patience for slow drama.

An ordinary restaurant, a secret organisation behind it and an eight-member family trying to protect the secret. The idea promises pace: once the secret is out, the plan changes and things speed up. But this is an action comedy, so expect fun more than tension; anyone after a real sense of threat may find it a bit light. The cast is large, balancing that many characters is never easy, and some of them may fade into the background.

Cinephile Looks at script, editing and directing choices; keeps a distance from formula films.

Ölümlü Dünya starts from a familiar formula: a family that looks ordinary from the outside and works for a secret organisation behind the scenes. The set-up wrings comedy from the clash between everyday life and extraordinary work; the real question is how freshly the script uses that contrast, despite having five credited writers. The restaurant in Haydarpaşa Station is a strong idea for a location, and a solid name like Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan is in the cast. But balancing an eight-member family in a single film is hard, and the temptation to fall back on genre cliches is always at the door.

Family Viewer Asks whether the whole household can watch it; cares about humour and heart.

It is an action comedy built around a family, an eight-member one, which is nice. The effort to keep the secret could be fun. Since it is an action film, there may be fight scenes, so take a look before watching with small children. Families who enjoy a lively crowded-table feeling can happily watch it with teenagers and adults.
