Salvation Last Stop (Kurtuluş Son Durak) (translated)

Kurtuluş Son Durak is a 2012 Turkish comedy-drama film. Written by Barış Pirhasan and directed by Yusuf Pirhasan, the BKM Film production was released in cinemas on 6 January 2012.

The story follows Eylem, a psychologist who, after being abandoned by her fiancé Okan just before their wedding, moves alone into the Saadet apartment building in Istanbul's Kurtuluş neighborhood. Sinking into depression, she is supported by five seemingly ordinary neighbors, each carrying her own pain: Vartanuş, who has spent her life caring for her bedridden father; Goncagül, strung along by her mafia boyfriend; Gülnur, enduring her husband's beatings for her children, and her daughter Tülay; and Füsun, a hairdresser who tries to see life through rose-colored glasses. As their own lives are transformed, these women discover that together they are stronger against all forms of psychological and physical violence. The film stars Belçim Bilgin, Demet Akbağ, Asuman Dabak, Nihal Yalçın, Ayten Soykök and Damla Sönmez.
