Asuman Dabak — Biography
Known widely for playing Menekşe in the series Tatlı Hayat, Asuman Dabak is a Turkish actress born on 1 February 1970 in the Akhisar district of Manisa. Although she studied tourism and hotel management rather than acting, she moved into performing on the strength of her observational instincts, beginning her stage career at the Bahçelievler Municipal Theatre and first appearing on screen as Emine in the series Örümcek.
Through the 2000s she took roles in television and film including Dayı and Şans Kapıyı Kırınca, and in 2006 she founded a theatre company under her own name, continuing stage work alongside voice-acting jobs and a stint hosting a program on a private channel. In the 2010s and 2020s she appeared in a wide range of productions such as Kağıt, Leyla ile Mecnun, Kurtuluş Son Durak, Adem'in Trenleri, Tutunamayanlar, Hudutsuz Sevda, Eyvah Karım and Aynadaki Yabancı.
In her personal life she was married to Ümit Birsel from 2005 to 2014, and the couple had a son named Tuğberk.
