Serdar Orçin — Biography

Serdar Orçin was born on 21 January 1976 in Bayburt. He started in theatre at Mehmet Bayazıd High School, completed his training at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center in 1999, and joined the İstanbul City Theatres the following year; over his career he also worked with the İstanbul State Theatre, the Yayla Art Center, the Yeditepe Players, and the İstanbul Royal Theatre, which he helped establish. He entered film in 1998 with the series Üçüncü Sayfa and, from the 2000s onward, appeared in numerous productions of Turkey's new cinema wave, some of which screened and won awards at festivals including Cannes, Montreal and BFI London; he took the lead role in the film Can. His many credits include Gülbeyaz, Abdülhamit Gezerken, Sır Çocukları, Yazgı, Bekleme Odası, Mühürlü Güller, Gümüş, Hayalet, Barda, Haneler, İz, Devrimden Sonra, Gözetleme Kulesi, Behzat Ç., Galip Derviş, Muhteşem Yüzyıl, Beş Kardeş, Oyunbozan, Borç and ANKA, along with the role of Mert in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz. More recently he returned to screens as Cihan in the series Güller ve Günahlar.
