Veda Yurtsever — Biography

Veda Yurtsever is a Turkish actress who moved from the state-theatre stage to television and film, carrying more than three decades of stage experience into her screen characters. She is best known as Nazan in Kırgın Çiçekler, and also played Kudret in Babil and Rüçhan in Üç Kız Kardeş. In October 2025 she announced that she was leaving the State Theatres after 32 years, publicly voicing criticism of how the institution was being run.

Born in Bingöl, she kept to acting although her family did not approve, and studied in the theatre department of Anadolu University's State Conservatory. After winning a place at the Diyarbakır State Theatre she performed on stages in Diyarbakır, Istanbul and Ankara, worked as an assistant director in Istanbul, and taught acting at the Müjdat Gezen Art Centre. Her screen debut was İki Aile in 2006, and Issız Adam (2008) was an early film credit. Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?, Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi and Beyaz Karanfil made her a familiar face; the real breakthrough was Kırgın Çiçekler, which began in 2015 and ran three seasons. Productions such as Zengin ve Yoksul (2019) followed.

Most recently she joined the cast of Halef, filmed in Şanlıurfa in 2026. She married the comedian Mahir İpek in 1998 and they divorced in 2018.
