Okan Avcı — Biography
Okan Avcı was born on 29 November 1984 in Muğla and graduated from Istanbul University. He entered acting in 2007 with the series Annem, and moved into directing in 2011 with his film Kadim.
He has worked in Turkish cinema as both director and actor, appearing in The Breath (2009) and Çoğunluk (2010) before playing a teacher in Sivas (2014), taking a role alongside Viggo Mortensen in the Hollywood production The Two Faces of January (2014), and playing Yörük Osman in 61 Days (2016); he also appeared in İftarlık Gazoz (2016) and as Tufan in Şahsiyet (2018).
In 2023 he played Osman in Hesitation Wound (Tereddüt Çizgisi), a Turkey-Spain-Romania-France co-production written and directed by Selman Nacar; the film screened in the Orizzonti section of the 80th Venice Film Festival and drew a positive critical response.
