Majority (Çoğunluk)

Majority is a 2010 Turkish drama film written and directed by Seren Yüce in his feature debut. Produced by Sevil Demirci, Önder Çakar and Yüce under the Yeni Sinemacılar banner, it went on general release across Turkey on 15 October 2010.

Mertkan, the son of an upper-middle-class Istanbul family, leads a simple life running errands for his father's construction business and hanging out with friends, until he meets Gül. When his authoritarian father opposes the relationship, Mertkan submits and conforms to the majority. Starring Bartu Küçükçağlayan and Settar Tanrıöğen, the film won the Lion of the Future at the 67th Venice Film Festival and took Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor honors at the 47th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.
