Simay Barlas — Biography

Simay Barlas is an Istanbul-born actress best known for young female roles in Turkish television series. Her screen breakthrough came with the role of Öykü in Star TV's Paramparça, and over the following years she appeared regularly in productions for Kanal D, Show TV and FOX. Most recently she played Süreyya Kutlu in Ömer, and she continues to take on new projects.

Her career falls into two phases. The first began with commercials and turned into series acting with Paramparça; her ads for Uludağ Frutti Extra, Rocco and Vekta Isıtıcı, and the part of Gözde in Hayat Bazen Tatlıdır, mark this stage. In the second she took parts of different kinds on Kanal D, in Adı Efsane (Naz), Zalim İstanbul (Damla) and Bir Annenin Günahı (Yağmur). In the same period she moved into cinema with the 2019 film Dijital Esaret, playing Damla.

Her later work includes Aziz (Efnan) on Show TV, Yabani (Rüya) on FOX, and Ömer. A graduate of the Cinema and Television Department at İstanbul Bilgi University, Barlas has built her on-camera experience along a line running from advertising to television and film.
