Aaahh Belinda

Aaahh Belinda centers on Serap, a young theatre actress who takes her craft very seriously. When she accepts an offer to appear in a shampoo commercial, she suddenly finds herself trapped inside the character she was meant to play: Naciye, a married mother of two. Now living an ordinary, monotonous life and unable to recognize anyone around her, Serap drifts between dream and reality as she struggles to figure out who she really is.

Directed by Atıf Yılmaz from a screenplay by Barış Pirhasan, the 1986 fantasy comedy-drama stars Müjde Ar in the dual role of Serap and Naciye. The film competed at the 23rd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, winning the Golden Orange for Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress. A modern adaptation was produced for Netflix and released in 2023.
