Bruce Strikes Back

Movie · 1982–1984 · 2 people

Bruce Strikes Back (original title Xiong zhong) is a 1982 martial arts action film produced jointly by Hong Kong, France and Greece. The picture was directed by André Koob, Bruce Le and Joseph Velasco, with Velasco also credited for the screenplay. It belongs to the wave of low-budget productions that emerged after Bruce Lee's death, built around performers who imitated his fighting style and screen persona. Bruce Le, one of the most prominent of these lookalike stars, headlines the film, while the supporting cast includes martial arts cinema regular Bolo Yeung and French actor and filmmaker Jean-Marie Pallardy. Made as a three-country co-production, the film reflects the busy period of early-1980s collaboration between European and East Asian producers in the kung fu genre, and it circulated internationally under a range of different titles depending on the market.
