Scream (Çığlık) (translated)

Çığlık ("Scream") is a 1949 Turkish film written and directed by Aydın Arakon, often cited as one of the earliest horror films made in Turkey. İlhan Arakon served as cinematographer and the picture was produced by Nazif Duru for Atlas Film.

The story follows a young doctor who takes shelter in a mansion during a storm and meets a young woman whose uncle has driven her to madness over a disputed inheritance. Amid the eerie house, an attempt is made on the doctor's life, but the young woman ends up the victim instead.

Muzaffer Tema plays the doctor, while Emine Engin portrays the troubled young woman; the supporting cast includes Abbas Temizer and Naciye Çokduyar.
