Ankara Express (Ankara Ekspresi) (translated)

Ankara Express is a 1952 black-and-white Turkish feature film written and directed by Aydın Arakon. Adapted from Esat Mahmut Karakurt's novel of the same name, published in 1946, it was produced by Atlas Film.

The story unfolds as an espionage tale set during the Second World War. Germany, preparing to invade Turkey, sends its most valued agents to Istanbul, among them the beautiful female spy Fräulein Hilda. The code word that launches the operation is "Ankara Express." Major Seyfi, a fearless intelligence officer of the Turkish army, thwarts the German agents' schemes along the Istanbul-Ankara route and rescues Hilda from the Nazis. Blending war, drama and romance, the film stars Zeynep Sırmalı, Turan Seyfioğlu, Atıf Kaptan, Mümtaz Ener and Nubar Terziyan.
