Wild Bride (Vahşi Gelin) (translated)

Movie · 1978 · 3 people

Vahşi Gelin ("Wild Bride") is a 1978 Turkish film directed by Osman F. Seden, co-written with Fuat Özlüer and produced by Türker İnanoğlu through Erler Film. It blends drama, comedy, and adventure elements.

The story follows Necmiye (Gülşen Bubikoğlu), a young woman pressured by her family into marrying the son of a local landowner, Temel (Tanju Gürsu). Fleeing her own engagement party, she takes refuge at the home of Murat (Cüneyt Arkın), a solitary and short-tempered writer. Their uneasy cohabitation gradually turns into romance, even as the jilted Temel tracks the pair down.

The film is a representative example of the era's Yeşilçam comedies built around forced-marriage plots and runaway-bride escapades.
