Paramparça is a 1985 Turkish drama and action film directed by Halit Refiğ, written by Erdoğan Tünaş and produced by Erler Film, with shooting completed in Kütahya. The story opens when Ümran, a young doctor, strikes a man named Cemil with her car. Cemil soon falls in love with her and wants to marry, but Ümran hesitates. Meanwhile Tayfun, who works for wealthy businessman Sabri, breaks off his unhappy engagement to the boss's daughter Çiğdem, quits his job and moves in with his close friend Cemil. Fate intervenes: Ümran turns out to be Tayfun's former sweetheart, and the reunited pair begin planning a marriage. Learning that the woman he loves is Ümran, Cemil refuses to give up and swears to kill Tayfun. Ümran agrees to marry Cemil on the condition he abandons the murder. A car accident leaves Çiğdem seemingly crippled, and Sabri begs Tayfun to return and wed his daughter; the broken-hearted Tayfun accepts. When he discovers the deception, he runs away with Ümran. Cemil finds them but ultimately forgives them — yet Sabri, his daughter and his men follow, bent on killing all three. Tarık Akan, Gülşen Bubikoğlu and Cüneyt Arkın star.
