Far Cry

Far Cry is a 2008 German-Canadian action film directed by Uwe Boll and loosely based on the 2004 video game of the same name. Til Schweiger stars as Jack Carver, a former special forces operative who earns his living renting out boats around the islands of Micronesia. Valérie, a driven journalist, is chasing reports of covert military research on a remote Pacific island and charters Jack's boat so she can reach her uncle Max, a mercenary posted there. The island turns out to be the site of genetic experiments run by Dr. Krieger that have gone badly wrong, and after an assault launched on Krieger's orders, the pair find themselves fighting to stay alive against soldiers who have slipped out of control. Emmanuelle Vaugier, Udo Kier and Ralf Moeller round out the principal cast. The film opened in German cinemas in October 2008, flopped badly at the box office and drew largely unfavorable reviews.
