Gold
Gold is a 2013 German-Canadian co-produced Western drama written and directed by Thomas Arslan. It was produced by Florian Koerner von Gustorf, with music by Dylan Carlson; German and English are spoken in the film.
The story follows a party of migrants of German and Austro-Hungarian origin travelling through sparsely populated parts of Canada in 1899, during the Klondike Gold Rush. Setting out from Ashcroft in British Columbia, the group aims to reach Dawson City.
The cast features Nina Hoss as Emily Meyer and Uwe Bohm as Gustav Müller, alongside Rosa Enskat, Peter Kurth, Marko Mandić, Wolfgang Packhäuser and Lars Rudolph. The film was screened in competition at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival.
