La Boum 2
Running 109 minutes, La Boum 2 was directed in 1982 by Claude Pinoteau as a French teen romantic comedy and coming-of-age story. It is the sequel to the 1980 film La Boum. Danièle Thompson and Pinoteau wrote the screenplay, and Gaumont produced it. Like its predecessor it did well commercially, selling 4,071,600 tickets in France.
The story concerns a young girl who falls in love with a boy and must face the question of making love for the first time. Claude Brasseur, Brigitte Fossey and Sophie Marceau share the leading roles, and the cast also includes Lambert Wilson, Pierre Cosso, Denise Grey, Sheila O'Connor, Daniel Russo, Zabou Breitman, Alain Beigel, Alexandre Sterling, Annette Poivre and Élie Chouraqui. In Spain and Latin America the film was released as Quince años recién cumplidos, and its German title is La Boum 2 – Die Fete geht weiter.
In 1983 Sophie Marceau won the César Award for Most Promising Actress for the film. It was also nominated for Best Music, for Vladimir Cosma's score, and for Best Supporting Actress, for Denise Grey. The group Cook da Books became known in many countries through the film's song "Your Eyes".
