Reservoir Dogs (Rezervuar Köpekleri)

Reservoir Dogs is a 1992 American crime film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, marking his feature-length directorial debut. Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Chris Penn, Steve Buscemi, Lawrence Tierney and Michael Madsen star as a crew of diamond thieves who do not know one another and address each other only through color-coded aliases. When their jewelry store robbery goes disastrously wrong, the survivors regroup at an abandoned warehouse on the edge of the city and try to figure out which of them betrayed the group to the police, the suspicion escalating into psychological warfare; the heist itself is never shown on screen. The film introduces elements that became Tarantino's trademarks: violent crime, pop culture references, stylized profanity-laden dialogue and a nonlinear narrative. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, it earned a modest theatrical return against its tiny budget before growing in popularity after Pulp Fiction. It is now regarded as a landmark of independent cinema, and Empire magazine named it the greatest independent film ever made.
