Scene of the Crime: A Tooth for a Tooth

Movie · 1985–1987 · 2 people

Zahn um Zahn (A Tooth for a Tooth) is a 1985 German crime film directed by Hajo Gies. A big-screen spin-off of the long-running television series Tatort, it stars Götz George reprising his role as Horst Schimanski, the rough-edged, rule-bending chief homicide inspector from Duisburg. Shot on location in Duisburg and Marseille, the film follows Schimanski and his team through an investigation that carries them from industrial northern Germany to the southern French port city. The cast also includes Eberhard Feik, Renan Demirkan, Charles Brauer, Martin Lüttge and Rufus. Featuring a title song performed by Klaus Lage, the film stands as one of the earliest productions to take the popular Schimanski character from the television screen into cinemas.
