Tatort: Baum der Erlösung (Tatort: Baum der Erlösung) (translated)
Baum der Erlösung is the 717th installment of the long-running Austrian crime series Tatort and marks Chief Inspector Moritz Eisner's twentieth case. Written by Felix Mitterer, the television film follows the inspector as he investigates the murder of a young Turkish woman and her boyfriend from Tyrol, a case that forces him to confront a clash between two cultures.
Produced by ORF, it first aired on 4 January 2009. The plot drew particular attention in Austria for weaving in the real-life minaret controversy from the town of Telfs, and ORF scheduled the broadcast as part of a themed evening devoted to Islam. The episode drew an unusually large audience in Austria, reaching 1.039 million viewers and a 35 percent market share. The cast includes Tim Seyfi, Tayfun Bademsoy and Emel Heinreich.
