Aslı Aybars — Biography

Born Aslı Kılan, Aslı Aybars was born on 25 May 1972 in Istanbul, the daughter of State Theatre performer Nihat Aybars, one of the conservatory's first graduates and the first Turkish actor to work in Hollywood. A graduate of the Theatre Department of Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory, where she studied under figures such as Zeliha Berksoy and Müşfik Kenter, she began acting in the series Tatlı Kaçıklar and went on to appear in Azad, Baba, İstanbul Şahidimdir and Fırtınalı Aşk, as well as the film Kahpe Bizans.

She reached wide audiences playing Yasemin in Çağan Irmak's film Issız Adam (2008) and won Best Supporting Actress at the 2019 Üstün Akmen Awards; her role as Başak in the 2015 series Çilek Kokusu also drew considerable attention on social media. Alongside her work at the Şehir Tiyatrosu, she teaches acting and communication skills and has taken on hosting and moderating work, as well as producing content on YouTube and Instagram.
