Beste Bereket — Biography

Beste Bereket Önal was born on 2 July 1982 in Istanbul. She had her first stage experience at twelve in the children's courses of the Müjdat Gezen Art Center; after a break during her years at Fenerbahçe Süper Lisesi, she was admitted to the physics department at Istanbul University but chose instead to pass the theatre exam at the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory, continuing her acting there.

She began appearing on camera in the mid-2000s, becoming known for the role of Burcu in the 2005 film Türev, then appeared in 2 Süper Film Birden (2006), Beş Şehir (2009), and the German production 300 Worte Deutsch (2013). Her performance in Beş Şehir won her Best Supporting Actress at the Altın Koza (Golden Boll) Film Festival. On television she reached wide audiences with Parmaklıklar Ardında (2007-2009) and Leyla ile Mecnun (2011-2012); alongside acting she co-founded the KRAFT studio with Teoman Kumbaracıbaşı and hosted two television programmes. She later appeared in Babam Çok Değişti (2021) and Uçuş 811 (2022). She married Serdar Önal in 2015.
