300 Words of German (300 Worte Deutsch) (translated)
300 Worte Deutsch ("300 Words of German") is a German comedy that plays with cultural peculiarities and clichés about Turks living in Germany. Züli Aladağ wrote and directed it, with Ali Samadi Ahadi and Gabriela Sperl as co-writers. Moving between comedy and drama, with German, Turkish and Swiss German heard in it, the film runs 96 minutes. It premiered on 29 June 2013 at Filmfest München, reached German cinemas on 5 February 2015, and has been available on DVD and Blu-ray since 28 August 2015.
The story is set in Cologne, where a community leader who wants to find wives for the unmarried men of his congregation brings young women over from Turkey.
