Booder — Biography

Born Mohammed Benyamna in Bouarfa, Morocco, Booder moved to France with his family at the age of one and grew up in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. After earning a baccalauréat in accounting he chose to pursue comedy instead, taking his stage name from his favourite footballer, the Moroccan Aziz Bouderbala, and gained French nationality by naturalisation in 1999.

He began his career in a comedy trio before continuing solo, performing one-man shows in Parisian theatres from 2004 and being spotted by producer Rachid Ould-Ali. He became widely known through the 2009 comedy Neuilly sa mère!, then headlined Beur sur la ville, Halal police d'État and Un Marocain à Paris, reprising his role in the 2018 sequel. In 2022 he also turned to directing with his first film, Le Grand Cirque, and is next set to appear alongside Jean Reno, Gérard Jugnot and Didier Bourdon in The Marsupilami, expected to release in 2026.
