Ramzy Bedia — Biography

Ramzy Habib El Haq Bedia, a French performer of Algerian descent, was born on 10 March 1972 in the 16th arrondissement of Paris; he is the brother of actress Melha Bedia and the husband of director Anne Depetrini. He turned to comedy after meeting Éric Judor in 1994 and forming the double act Éric et Ramzy, with whom he co-hosted a show on channel M6. Wide recognition came in 1998 opposite Jamel Debbouze on the series H, and he made his film debut the next year in a teen comedy by Djamel Bensalah. The turning point of his career was playing a window cleaner, in a script he co-wrote with Judor, for Charles Nemes's 2001 film La Tour Montparnasse Infernale. In 2004 the pair reunited on screen in Philippe Haïm's spy spoof Double Zéro and in a film adaptation of Les Dalton. He went on to appear in Once Upon a Time in the Oued, Bled Number One and Neuilly sa mère!, and played the villain Zorglub in a 2018 installment of The Adventures of Spirou and Fantasio. His career has continued with more recent credits including Taxi 5, Cette musique ne joue pour personne and the series Of Money and Blood.
