Caner Şahin — Biography

Caner Şahin is an actor of the younger generation who has worked in Turkish series since 2016 while staying connected to the stage. His main roles include Kartal Cebeci in Kuzgun, Tolga Kaşifoğlu in Aldatmak and Ozan Erdemir in Bir Gece Masalı; in 2024 he also appeared in the play Biri Gelecek Ya Da Bir Şey Olacak.

He grew up in Eskişehir as the youngest of three children of retired teachers. While studying mechanical engineering at Istanbul Technical University he joined the theatre group there; as his interest in acting grew he left the department for the Theatre Department of the Istanbul University State Conservatory, from which he graduated. During his conservatory years he co-founded the Lahza Theatre with friends.

His first screen role, in 2016, was Kadir Kayalar in Kanal D's Babam ve Ailesi. He went on to play Bahadır Akıncı in Tutsak and Salih Akmeşe in Nefes Nefese, and made his film debut as Ramazan in Ömür Atay's Kardeşler. Later came Ali in Rise of Empires: Ottoman, Selahattin in Seni Çok Bekledim and Sinan in Dünya Hali in 2021, and Tolga in Aldatmak from 2022 to 2024. He also played Salih in İmam Gazali.
