Cengiz Coşkun

Cengiz Coşkun — Biography

Cengiz Coşkun is best known on Turkish television as Turgut Alp in Diriliş: Ertuğrul, a character that resurfaced years later in Kuruluş Osman, where he rejoined the cast in 2025. He is one of the few performers to combine sport, modelling and acting in a single career, and in cinema he is remembered as Sultan Alparslan in Malazgirt 1071.

His route began on the basketball court: the son of a family that had emigrated from Bulgaria, he took up the sport in middle school and played for Ülkerspor, Erdemir Ereğli Spor and Balıkesir DSİ Spor, graduating from Marmara University's Sports Academy in 2008. A third place at Best Model in 2002 led to a fourth-place finish at the World's Most Handsome Man contest in London. He entered acting in 2005 with Rüzgarlı Bahçe and studied in Şahika Tekand's workshop, followed by Nehir, Candan Öte, Doktorlar and Hicran Yarası. His breakthrough came in 2012 as the Byzantine commander Giovanni Giustiniani in Fetih 1453; the same year he played special forces officer Tuğrul Tümen in Dağ. In 2013 he competed in Survivor Ünlüler-Gönüllüler in Panama and was eliminated on day 94.

From 2014 he spent five seasons as Turgut Alp. He played Ali in Çekmeceler (2015), and Malazgirt 1071 reached cinemas in 2022, the year he married Beatrica Lorena.
