Devin Özgür Çınar — Biography

Devin Özgür Çınar has been a recognised character actress of Turkish television and cinema since the 1990s, and is also a screenwriter. Her biggest film honour came for Geriye Kalan, which earned her the best actress prize at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. Today she plays Ezgi in GAİN's 10 Bin Adım and is credited with the screenplay of the same platform's series FER.

Çınar graduated in 1996 from the drama department of Hacettepe University's Ankara State Conservatory. Her first stage experience was with the Bakırköy Municipal Theatre in Can Yücel's play Bahar Noktası, and she later returned to the stage in Mikadonun Çöpleri and Yeni Kiracı. Her screen career began with Cennet in İkinci Bahar. She went on to play a variety of characters in series such as Dayı, Köpek, Hayat Türküsü (as Hayat), Parmaklıklar Ardında and Türk Malı. On film, Dar Alanda Kısa Paslaşmalar, Abuzer Kadayıf, Hiçbir Yerde and Gönül Yarası belong to the first phase of her work.

From the 2010s the line continued with Galip Derviş and Sevdaluk, and carried on with the role of Hülya Aksal in Kalbimdeki Deniz. In the same years she appeared in the films Robinson Crusoe & Cuma, Guruldayan Kalpler and Aile Arasında. Her main recent work is 10 Bin Adım, which began in 2020.
