Ebru Özkan — Biography

Ebru Özkan is an actress who came to acting from modelling and theatre and has become a regular in Turkish series and streaming productions. Her two career peaks were Halide in Hanımın Çiftliği and Dilara in Paramparça, which also drew audiences in the Arab world and Greece. She now plays Handan in ATV's Can Borcu.

Born in Ankara, she finished middle and high school in Nevşehir and completed the university degree she began on a Bilkent scholarship at Ankara University's Faculty of Language and History-Geography. While still a student she started acting in Gözyaşı Çetesi, followed by Kara İnci and Güldünya, and she played Melisa in Bir Kış Masalı, part of Çağan Irmak's Kabuslar Evi films. Hanımın Çiftliği made her a household name. Then came Berrin in Çınar Ağacı, Ela in Hayatımın Rolü and Suna in Not Defteri; Paramparça, which began in 2014 and ran three seasons, introduced her internationally as Dilara opposite Erkan Petekkaya.

Later she played Melek in Şahin Tepesi and İpek Tekin in Hekimoğlu, for which she received the best actress award of the Radio and Television Journalists Association. She shared the lead with Erdal Beşikçioğlu in Hakim, partnered again in the Disney+ series Ben Gri, led Ben Bu Cihana Sığmazam as Leyla Türk, and played the mystical Çavgeş in Netflix's Şahmaran. She married the actor Ertan Saban in 2016.
