Elisabetta Rocchetti — Biography
Acting came first for Italian actress Elisabetta Rocchetti, who later moved into directing and screenwriting as well. She won the Golden Globe for best debut actress in 2003 for her role in Matteo Garrone's The Embalmer.
She made her film acting debut in 1996 in Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion. Her other film work includes Dario Argento's The Card Player and Sleepless, Carlo Verdone's Love Is Eternal While It Lasts and Leonardo Pieraccioni's I Love You in All the Languages in the World; she played Deborah in The Embalmer, Donatella in Bad Inclination and Violetta in Floor 17. On television she appeared in Il bello delle donne, Do You Like Hitchcock?, Caterina e le sue figlie 2 and Terapia d'urgenza.
She began directing in 2006 with the short film L'ultima seduta. In 2010 she wrote, directed and produced her first feature, Eighteen: The World at My Feet, and in September 2015 she returned to directing with The Veil of Maya, shot in Rome and Grosseto.
