Elisabetta Rocchetti — Biography
The daughter of lawyer Nicola Rocchetti, Elisabetta Rocchetti was born on 25 January 1975 in Rome and made her acting debut in 1996 in Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion. In 2003 she won the Golden Globe for Best Debut Actress for her role in Matteo Garrone's The Embalmer (2002), and went on to appear in Dario Argento's The Card Player and Sleepless, in films by Carlo Verdone and Leonardo Pieraccioni, and on television in series such as Il bello delle donne.
She turned to directing in 2006 with the short film L'ultima seduta, wrote and directed her first feature, Eighteen: The World at My Feet, in 2010, and returned behind the camera in 2015 with The Veil of Maya. Continuing to act throughout, she appeared through the 2000s in The Knights of the Quest, Bad Inclination, The Vanity Serum and Floor 17, and later in Il segreto di Rahil (2007) and Highspeed Train (2012).
