Ercan Özçelik — Biography

Ercan Özçelik, born on 12 August 1966 in the Altınordu district of Ordu, is a German actor of Turkish descent. For more than thirty years he has performed on the stages of Germany's state theatres, beginning his career in theatre during the 1980s before moving into film and television work from the 1990s onward.

He played the detective role in Hal Hartley's Fay Grim (2006), and appeared in the 2002 episode "Schlaraffenland" of the long-running German crime series Tatort; his credits also include the ARD series Die Pfefferkörner and the films Kiss Me Kismet (2006) and Gangs (2009). He has worked alongside performers such as Jeff Goldblum and Parker Posey, and describes his acting technique as a blend of Lee Strasberg's method approach with poetic theatre.
