Baki Davrak — Biography
Baki Davrak is a Turkish-German actor born in 1971 in Bad Säckingen, Germany. Working across theatre, film and television, he has built a career in productions connecting the cinemas of Germany and Turkey.
He made his screen debut in 1999, playing Murat in Lola + Bilidikid. His breakthrough came with Fatih Akın's The Edge of Heaven, which received the Best Screenplay prize at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival; in it he portrayed Nejat Aksu, a professor of German. He subsequently appeared in Do Not Forget Me Istanbul (2010), Our Grand Despair (2011) and Crimean (2014).
On television he first appeared in Germany in the 1992 series Wolffs Revier. Turkish audiences know him as Vasili in the Kanal D series Vatanım Sensin, and in 2020 he featured in the historical docudrama Rise of Empires: Ottoman.
