Fahri Yardım — Biography

Roles drawn from Germany's immigrant communities have made Fahri Yardım one of the faces of contemporary German cinema; the German actor of Turkish descent grew up in Germany. He is best known for playing the young Hüseyin in Almanya – Welcome to Germany and for the investigator Yalcin Gümer in Tatort, opposite Til Schweiger.

He was born in Hamburg, where his parents had moved from Turkey, and entered film in the early 2000s; Kebab Connection (2004) and Keinohrhasen (2007) were among his first notable credits. He played Curly in Chiko (2008) and went on to parts in Kokowääh and Schutzengel. Almanya – Welcome to Germany followed in 2011, and in 2013 came The Physician (The Physician), in which he played Davout Hossein and which was a box-office hit in Germany; Honig im Kopf (2014) and Half Brothers (2015) came next.

The Yalcin Gümer character moved to the big screen in Tschiller: Off Duty (2016). He later played Ender Müller in Abgeschnitten (2018) and appeared in the Netflix series Dogs of Berlin and the 2025 film Curveball. In a career of more than twenty years he shared casts with Denis Moschitto in Kebab Connection, Chiko and Almanya – Welcome to Germany. Besides acting on stage and screen he works as a voice-dubbing artist and producer, and he holds both Turkish and German citizenship.
