Farah Zeynep Abdullah — Biography

Farah Zeynep Abdullah was born on 17 August 1989 in Istanbul, to an Iraqi Turkmen father and a mother of Turkish-Bosnian descent. She spent part of her high school years at a French lycée in Istanbul before moving to England for her father's work, where she completed her secondary education. While preparing for university she received an offer that led to her playing Aylin in the 2010 television series Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki, the role that introduced her to a wide audience and launched her acting career.

Her cinema breakthrough came in 2013 as Mediha in Yılmaz Erdoğan's Kelebeğin Rüyası. The following year brought Bi Küçük Eylül Meselesi, Unutursam Fısılda and the series Kurt Seyit ve Şura, followed by Muhteşem Yüzyıl Kösem (2015) and Ekşi Elmalar (2016). In 2018 she portrayed Ajda Pekkan in Arif V 216 and played Begüm in Bizim İçin Şampiyon. In 2022 she won wide acclaim for embodying the singer Bergen in the biographical film Bergen, and in 2023 she appeared in Bihter. A recipient of two SİYAD awards, Abdullah also pursues music and producing alongside acting.
