Jacques Boudet — Biography
Jacques Boudet was born in Montpellier on 15 April 1935 and began acting in 1963, working without interruption for more than sixty years until his death. He built a decades-long collaboration with director Robert Guédiguian across more than fifteen films, and played Charles de Gaulle in the 1979 British television play Churchill and the Generals.
He played the Duc de Guermantes in Volker Schlöndorff's adaptation of Un amour de Swann, the poet Guillaume Apollinaire in Waiting for the Moon, a cynical, southern-accented politician in Claude Chabrol's Comedy of Power, and a pharmacist in Luc Besson's Nikita; he also appeared in the 1995 adaptation of Les Misérables, Tanguy, Agathe Cléry and Trivial.
Jacques Boudet died in his sleep at his home in Montpellier, the city of his birth, on 15 July 2024, at the age of 89.
