Melis Sezen — Biography

Melis Sezen is an Istanbul-born actress and dancer best known as Derin in the Kanal D series Sadakatsiz, which aired from 2020 to 2022 and in which she shared the lead with Cansu Dere and Caner Cindoruk. More recently she has worked on Show TV, in Deha and Delikanlı.

Theatre was close to her from childhood: she took drama lessons, performed on amateur stages and spent time in formal theatre training. She graduated from Koç University's Media and Visual Arts department and keeps dance as a profession. Her screen career began in 2016 with Hayat Bazen Tatlıdır and continued with the role of Ebru in Siyah İnci. In 2018 she turned to cinema through independent films; Bizim İçin Şampiyon, the true story of a racehorse and its jockey, was her first major film part. 2019 was decisive: Yasemin in Leke was her first lead, she then played Deren, one of the leads of Sevgili Geçmiş, and at year's end took the role of Beren in Mahsun Kırmızıgül's Mucize 2: Aşk. That year she also entered the top 100 of the IMDb Starmeter list. In 2020 she played Nazan in the miniseries Ya İstiklal Ya Ölüm and appeared in the film Kovala; in 2021 she also featured in the Netflix series Fatma.

In 2021 she won the "Rising Star" award at the 47th Golden Butterfly Awards. In Deha she played İmre Karan, and in Delikanlı, Hazal Kızılhan.
