Nilperi Şahinkaya — Biography

Nilperi Şahinkaya was born on 23 February 1988 in Dakar, Senegal, where her father, diplomat Salim Levent Şahinkaya, was posted at the time. His career took the family to several countries; she finished primary school in Paris and secondary school in Bern before the family settled in Ankara in 2003, and she graduated from the Charles de Gaulle French High School in 2006.

She completed her university studies with high honors at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts of Bilkent University. She began acting while still a student, appearing in the series Deniz Yıldızı, and after moving to Istanbul played Mesude in Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki and both Defne and Sedef in Kayıp.

She took the lead as Şeyma in Kiraz Mevsimi and also appeared in N'olur Ayrılalım. She played Aslı in Bu Şehir Arkandan Gelecek and Nevin Şahin in Yeni Hayat, and took on multiple characters in The Life and Movies of Ersan Kuneri. Her film credits include Karakomik Filmler and the Gelin Takımı series.
