Nusret Gökçe (Nusr-Et) — Biography

Nusret Gökçe was born in 1983 in Erzurum.

Due to financial reasons, he had to leave middle school in the sixth grade and took his first step into his profession as an apprentice in the butchers' bazaar in Bostancı.

Nusret Gökçe, who worked about 18 hours a day in a large butcher shop, continued to work in 2007 at a butcher-restaurant concept business that opened in İstinye Park.

Later, he went to Argentina to explore the concepts around the world, and brought the experience he gained there to customers at his business in Turkey.

Nusret, who says he was the first to make cooked meat products such as lokum and ceviz kafes, later went to the United States and began working without pay at 4 well-known restaurants in New York, and the menu he prepared was published in the New York Times newspaper.

In 2010, he founded a restaurant named Nusret Steakhouse in Etiler together with Mithat Erdem. Afterwards, he became a partner with Ferit Şahenk, the owner of the Doğuş Group.

Having become well known in a short time, Nusret Gökçe made a great impact with the restaurant he opened in Dubai and began to expand worldwide.

Nusret Gökçe, who has stayed in the spotlight with the presentation he made to the world-famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio, states that he earned 1,800 liras as a salary when he was an apprentice and now has 400 employees.
