Şahin Irmak — Biography

Şahin Irmak is an actor whose career runs from comedy sketch shows into television drama and cinema. He reached a wide audience through his roles on Kanal D's sketch programme Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar, and his first leading film role, in Entelköy Efeköy'e Karşı, won him a Sadri Alışık Award in the comedy category. In recent years he has appeared in the series Kısmet.

Born in İzmir to a family originally from Çıldır in Ardahan, he did not continue his education after high school. Alongside stage acting, from 2002 he appeared in productions such as Sırlar Dünyası and Unutma Beni; his first wide recognition came in 2007 as Şiro in Karayılan. Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar made him popular, and from 2010 he also worked on its writing team. He played Sülo in Aşağı Yukarı Yemişlililer and took the lead in the series Sultan, then joined comedy shows such as Eğlendirme Dairesi and Show TV's Geldim Gördüm Güldüm. In film he played Şahin in Beynelmilel, Latif in Git Başımdan and the title role in Dede Korkut Hikayeleri: Deli Dumrul, and in the series Jet Sosyete he played Talip.

For Entelköy Efeköy'e Karşı he was named best actor in a comedy at the 17th Sadri Alışık Awards in 2012. He married actress Asena Tuğal in 2018.
