Büşra Pekin — Biography

Büşra Pekin is an actress, screenwriter and voice artist whose career ran from television sketch characters to leading roles in cinema. She first became known through the BKM Mutfak ensemble's Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar, then played the lead in films such as Hadi İnşallah and Dilberay. More recently she has appeared in Çok Aşk, Başkan and Ketenpere: Dalavere, released in January 2026.

The first phase was the BKM Mutfak years. She moved to Istanbul and joined the troupe in 2005, and in 2007 took her first leading film part as Selen in Kutsal Damacana. Between 2008 and 2010 she played a range of characters in Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar and wrote some of the sketches herself; Havuçlu Anne was among her best-loved creations. In the second phase television and cinema took over: in 2011 she guested in Muhteşem Yüzyıl as Şirin Hatun, appeared in Kardeş Payı and İşler Güçler, and in 2014 shared the lead with Murat Boz in Hadi İnşallah, playing the writer Pucca. In 2022 she played the vocalist Dilber Ay in Dilberay and Arzu in Yılbaşı Gecesi.

Her supporting part in Yılmaz Erdoğan's Neşeli Hayat earned her the SİYAD award for best supporting actress in 2010, along with a Sadri Alışık award. She was born in Saudi Arabia, where her father's work had taken the family, and grew up in İzmir; she finished her last year of high school in Arkansas and studied theatre at Dokuz Eylül University.

Their work through different eyes

Series Binger A series devotee tracking character arcs, cast chemistry and season pacing.

The way into Büşra Pekin is Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar: in this sketch show, which ran four seasons, every performer both writes and plays, and Pekin wrote some of the sketches herself. In my view her comedy is easiest to read here, and her later sitcom and film parts build on this ground.

Cinephile Looks at script, editing and directing choices; keeps a distance from formula films.

In ensemble comedies Büşra Pekin is mostly one part of the cast: Bayi Toplantısı is carried by three male leads, and in Tatlım Tatlım the text is split among eight actors. In Dilberay she plays a real singer, Dilber Ay, in the title role; in my view this is the film that tests the acting she brings from her sketch background, because the story is not divided among a crowd but rests on her.
